I’m glad I didn’t start watching Game of Thrones when it first aired on TV, because waiting a week for every new episode would’ve been torture. The show isn’t revolutionary or ground-breaking, but as far as TV shows go, Game of Thrones raises the bar a notch. Based on the book series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin, the characters are brought to life by an astounding cast led by Sean Bean as Eddard Stark, the head of the Stark Hose, and the ever-so-beautiful Emilia Clark as Daenerys Targaryen (one of my favorite characters), the last of the Dragon-blood Targaryens. The story is too big and too complicated to mention in the review, but believe me, you won’t be disappointed with the depth and originality of the plot. HBO’s heads mentioned more than once their desire to have a hit show that’s appealing to all TV audiences, and Game of Thrones delivered one of the best debut numbers, and now is on course to be one of HBO’s biggest hits, alongside the sensational True Blood.
Game of Thrones scored 13 Primetime Emmy nominations, contributing to HBO’s total of 104 nominations, the most of any TV channel… for the 11th year in a row!

Here is a list of summer TV shows to hold you off until September, when all the good fall shows—both returning and new—start.
I don’t watch all the shows in the list, but I’ve included the top 10 shows from what I watch and what I know is doing well.

My very dear friend Abdullah over at Khaleejesque wrote an excellent and very thorough summation of the upcoming Fall TV shows. Featuring both new and returning shows, including everybody’s favorites (Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, Dexter, and many more). Here is the link to his article, and here’s a YouTube playlist I made of all of the mentioned shows’ promos, excluding 30 Rock, cause I couldn’t find a promo/trailer for the upcoming season. Other than blonde (Red for Griffin) bimbostic hair, they’re all set to co-host The View.
McCain will be guest co-hosting the show September 9th and 10th. Victoria will be a guest on the September 14th episode. LaToya will take September 16th and September 18th. Kathy will be also on September 18th.
Why you ask? Because prime co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck is on maternity leave.
